What This Calculator Does
This calculator models a driven series RLC circuit at a selected frequency and reports the electrical quantities engineers usually inspect first: impedance, current, reactance balance, resonance, quality factor, and bandwidth.
It combines Resistance, Inductance, Capacitance, Source Voltage to estimate Impedance, Current, Phase Angle.
Formula & Method
Notation used in the formulas: = Impedance; = Resistance; = Inductance; = Capacitance; = Source Voltage; = Frequency.
Method summary: inputs are normalized to consistent units, core equations are evaluated, then secondary values are derived and rounded for display.
Use it when checking whether a chosen drive frequency is below, above, or near resonance, or when estimating current magnification and selectivity in a simple tuned series network.
